Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 28, 2026

Kurio is designed to provide a child-safe AI experience with parent-facing summaries and insights. We aim to handle data carefully, clearly, and with a safety-first mindset. This policy is intended as a practical beta-stage baseline and may be updated as the product evolves.

1. Information We Collect

  • Parent account information, such as name, email address, and password hash.
  • Child profile information, such as selected age range.
  • Chat messages and interaction history used to provide responses, safety features, and parent summaries.
  • Technical information such as session data, IP-related request logs, and basic usage diagnostics.

2. How We Use Information

  • To operate Kurio and provide AI chat responses.
  • To apply safety filters and block unsafe content.
  • To generate parent-facing summaries, learning trends, and support signals.
  • To improve reliability, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot service issues.

3. Child Safety and Parent Visibility

Kurio is intended to support children with age-appropriate interactions and give parents meaningful visibility. By default, Kurio may provide parents with summaries, trends, and safety/support signals rather than raw transcript access in every case.

4. AI Processing

Some messages may be processed by third-party AI providers in order to generate responses and insights. We aim to minimize unnecessary exposure and use these services only to operate core product functionality.

5. Data Retention

We retain account data, chat history, and logs for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the service, support parent insights, improve safety, and maintain beta operations. We may delete or anonymize data when no longer needed.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We may share limited data with infrastructure or AI service providers strictly to run Kurio. We may also disclose data if required by law or to protect users, children, or the service from harm.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical measures to protect information, including password hashing, session controls, rate limiting, and safety logging. However, no internet service can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

8. Parent Responsibility

Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising a child’s use of Kurio and deciding whether the product is appropriate for their child. Kurio is not a substitute for parenting, professional medical advice, or emergency support.

9. Sensitive Topics

If a child expresses possible self-harm, violence, or other high-risk content, Kurio may block the interaction and encourage immediate contact with a trusted adult or local emergency services where appropriate.

10. Your Choices

You may contact us to request account changes or deletion. During beta, support processes may be manual and response times may vary.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Kurio evolves. Continued use of the service after updates means you accept the revised policy.
